API keys.

Bring your own model provider. Keys are encrypted at rest, never shared, and never visible again after they are saved.

Add a provider key

Connect a model provider.

A short name so you can recognise this key later. The model name is used if you leave this blank.

Custom endpoint Enter your own URL

The model ID your provider uses. The tutor picks the best model for each subject unless you pin a default here.

Encrypted before storage. We never log the value and it cannot be retrieved again after saving.

Configured providers

Keys saved to your account.

Agent API keys

Mint a scoped key for a headless agent.

An agent key lets an automated client call the Socrates API as you, limited to the scopes you tick below. The credential is shown once at creation and cannot be retrieved afterwards. Revoke it any time.

A short name so you can recognise this agent later.

Grant the minimum the agent needs. Read scopes can list and download; write scopes can create or send.

Leave empty for a key that never expires. Maximum one year.

Issued agent keys

Every key you have minted.

How Socrates uses your keys

A short note on what we send and what we do not.

Your key is sent only to the provider you selected, and only with the prompts that arise from your sessions. We do not proxy traffic through our servers, do not log your prompts, and do not include any identifier that ties the request back to you beyond what your provider already sees.

Removing a key stops Socrates from using it on the next turn. Past turns that already used the key are preserved.
