# Terms of service

> The terms under which Socrates is offered.

By using Socrates, you agree to these terms. This is the short version; the longer version is below. If anything is unclear, write to help@addtech.site and we will explain it.

## The short version

- Socrates is a learning product. Use it for what it is good at.
- Be respectful of the tutor and of other learners.
- Your account is yours; we will not lock you in without cause.
- If we change the terms in a material way, we will email you first.

## What you can do

- Use Socrates for personal learning, classroom teaching, and research.
- Use the API within rate limits, for personal projects.
- Export your data at any time.

## What you cannot do

- Resell Socrates without our written agreement.
- Use Socrates to build a competing product.
- Use Socrates to generate spam, malware, or content that is illegal where you live.
- Reverse-engineer the tutor to extract a non-public model.

## Subscription and payment

- Plans are billed monthly in advance.
- Cancel any time from the account page; your plan stays active until the end of the period.
- Refunds within 14 days of a first paid plan — write to us.
- EU customers are billed with VAT applied where required.

## Service availability

We aim for high availability but make no guarantees. The status page lives at https://status.topodrive.top.

## Liability

Socrates is a learning aid, not a substitute for professional judgement. Where a subject requires credentialed advice (medical, legal, financial), follow a credentialed human.

## Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Topodrive is registered.
