# Privacy — Socrates

> How we handle learner data.

Socrates is built around the principle that the learner's thinking is their own data. This page is a summary of what we collect, what we don't, and how to take your data out.

## What we collect

- Account data — your email, profile details, billing info if you subscribe.
- Session data — the questions you ask, the tutor's responses, your annotations and recall queue.
- Telemetry — anonymous, opt-in. No telemetry is tied to your account unless you have opted in.
- LLM API keys — stored encrypted at rest; used only for the sessions you start. We do not log key values.

## What we don't collect

- We do not record microphone or camera input.
- We do not record your screen.
- We do not sell or share learner data with third parties for advertising.

## Training on your data

**We do not train our models on your conversations.** This is a hard rule.

## Where data lives

Data is stored in PostgreSQL inside the operating infrastructure of Topodrive. Backups are encrypted at rest. Access requires two-factor authentication.

## How to take your data out

- **Export a session.** From any session, choose Export. You will get a markdown archive.
- **Delete a session.** From any session, choose Delete. The session is removed from your account immediately.
- **Delete your account.** From the account page, choose Delete account. Account and all associated sessions are removed.
- **Data portability.** Send a request to help@addtech.site and we will send you a full export of your data within 14 days.

## Updates

When we change this policy in a material way, we email every account holder before the change takes effect. The current version is dated 2026-08-22.
